The quiz asks eight simple questions about you and your fasting plans.

You will get a results page with detailed dosage recommendations of Fasting Salts Powder for your requirement level.

We will NOT ask for your email address or any other personally identifiable information.

How to Take Fasting Salts

Mix 0.5 to 1 scoop of powder with at least 500ml of water. Drink gradually over a period of time. Drinking it all at once quickly may cause digestive upset.

This fasting supplement consists of pure unflavoured salts so it will taste salty. If you find the taste too strong, please just add more water.

Some of our customers prefer mixing the powder with warm water. Another tip is to use sparkling mineral water, with a small dash of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar.

Long-Term Extended Fasting (Over 72 hours)

Take 0.3 to 1 scoop at a time, several times a day. Ideally sip on electrolyte water continuously throughout the day.
Start with a lower dosage on your first day and gradually increase.
Do not take more than 4 scoops per day.

Short-Term Extended Fasting (24-72 hours)

Take 0.5 to 1 scoop at a time, 1-2 times a day. Start with a lower dosage on your first day and gradually increase.

Islamic Fasting

Take 0.3 to 0.5 scoop of the powder dissolved in a large glass of water (300-500ml) with your Suhoor meal. If you expect to experience heavy sweating during the day (due to hot weather, exercise or hard physical work), increase the dosage to 1 scoop.

If you have strong symptoms of electrolyte deficiency by the evening (such as headache, fatigue, muscle cramps, dizziness), take another small serving of Fasting Salts with your Iftar meal, suggested dosage 0.3 scoop of powder.

Intermittent Fasting | OMAD | Keto

Take 0.5 to 1 scoop daily, ideally during your fasting window or in between meals on Keto. Do not take at the same time as food.

Scoop size

1 scoop of the powder = 5g of the powder = around 1 level teaspoon

Fasting for the first time?

Please note your digestive system is highly sensitive during fasting. Electrolytes are essential but taking too much may cause digestive upset. That’s the case for all electrolyte supplements including ours, and even for table salt.

That’s why we recommend starting with a lower dosage (half a scoop) and increasing it gradually if you still feel any symptoms of electrolyte deficiency. After a few days of fasting, you will get a feel for how much supplementation your body needs.

It’s better to sip the water slowly over a period of time. Drinking it all at once increases the risk of digestive upset.

Fasting Salts: Frequently Asked Questions

Why don’t you use pink Himalayan salt in your fasting supplements?

We considered using pink Himalayan salt and decided against it for three reasons:

  1. The average levels of potassium and magnesium in pink salt are not high enough to support long-term extended fasts
  2. There is a great deal of variance in mineral levels between samples – up to 40x times
  3. There is a possibility of small traces of naturally-occurring heavy metals that may be harmful in large concentrations

Please check out this article on our blog for more information and studies: Why we don’t use pink Himalayan salt in our fasting supplements

Why are dosages in this product not 100% DV/NRV for each mineral?

Daily Values (DV) guidelines were developed for a “standard” Western diet. They are extremely generic even for that purpose, implying that “one size fits all” nutritionally. They are completely off when applied to alternative WOEs like Keto and fasting.

For example, many vitamins and minerals are used for digesting and metabolising macronutrients – not required if you fast.

It’s a legal requirement to include DVs on supplement labels. But they are really not that meaningful when it comes to fasting or Keto.

Are Fasting Salts suitable for Keto and Intermittent Fasting?

This fasting supplement is designed primarily for Extended Fasting. Many of our customers do occasional EF, then revert to IF and/or Keto as their default way of eating. So if you have some product left after your extended fast, you can continue using it in smaller dosages to support IF or Keto.

If you don’t practice extended fasting at all, you can get a less concentrated product with lower sodium content. Please check out our Keto Electrolytes capsules.

Are Fasting Salts suitable for Islamic Fasting?

Yes, many of our customers are Muslims who take this supplement during their religious fasting.

Fasting Salts product is certified Halal.

What do Fasting Salts taste like?

Our fasting electrolytes are completely free from flavourings and additives. The only ingredients are pure electrolyte salts.

And that’s exactly what it tastes like – just like any other salt dissolved in water!

We recommend starting with 1 scoop of powder per 500ml of water. If that’s too salty for you, increase the amount of water – that will not affect the efficacy of the powder.

If you find the taste too unpleasant, try our Fasting Salts capsules.

Can Fasting Salts cause a digestive upset?

Any electrolyte supplement can potentially cause digestive upset, especially during extended fasting. Your system is very vulnerable and can be disrupted even by standard table salt.

The Advanced formulation includes magnesium glycinate instead of magnesium citrate which is gentler on your digestive system and is less likely to cause any upset.

Please always follow our recommendations on how to take this fasting supplement. Do not exceed the stated dose.

If you do experience digestive upset, try reducing the dosage of powder or diluting it further with water.

If you are taking this product for Keto or Intermittent Fasting, do not take it together with food.

If you feel this supplement is not working out for you, please contact us and get a full refund under our 60-day money-back guarantee.

Why do the salts leave a residue on the bottom of the glass?

All three ingredients in this fasting supplement are pure salts.

Larger salt crystals may take a bit longer to dissolve.

Using warm water or sparkling water should help to dissolve them faster.

Stirring with a spoon or using a protein drink shaker also helps.

My scoop is missing – what shall I do?

There should be a 5ml scoop included within each pot.

Sometimes it might get lost in the powder  – please fish around in the pot and you should find it.

In the unlikely event that your scoop is missing, you can use a standard teaspoon instead.

One 5ml scoop of the powder = One level teaspoon

Do I have to take 4 scoops per day for Extended Fasting?

4 scoops is the maximum daily dosage for this fasting supplement.

You may need all four – or you may only need one of two.

We are all different and there are other factors at play – for example, the duration of your fast, how much electrolytes you got stored in your body, whether your drinking water contains electrolytes and so forth.

If you are fasting for the first time, start with 1-2 scoops per day. If you still get the symptoms of electrolyte deficiency, take another one.

Listen to your body and find the level that’s right for you individually.
