Keeping up these essential electrolytes during as prolonged water fast is a great way to keep topping your body up of these ingredients. It definitely got me through the bad days when I have keto flu. The taste is quite harsh to start with but as recommended, try using half doses so you can get used to it. Despite the strong salty taste, it’s a welcoming taste when I’m only consuming water throughout the day. Product arrived quickly and delivers exactly what it’s supposed to, no issues!!
Good product, especially if you are watching your electrolytes. I am using this for keto once a day and most of my symptoms have disappeared. It is very salty but I don’t mind that so much. I’m not sure how long this will last me just yet, so for now, I will not give full marks for value for money, but will definitely return to update if my opinion changes.
It tastes terrible. Its not meant to taste nice, but it does a fantastic job of stabilizing your electrolyte levels while fasting. No headaches or fatigue anymore during my 48 hour fasts. Best way to take this is to mix with a litre of ice cold water, and some squeezed lemon juice. It makes the salty taste a lot more bearable, and the lemon juice doesn’t break your fast. On the tub it recommends mixing one scoop with 500ml but that is way too salty for me.

Making your own capsules
Some of our customers prefer to make their own supplement capsules with this powder. Empty capsules can be purchased on Amazon and from health food shops.
If you choose to do that, please remember to drink plenty of water when you take the capsules – at least 300ml (half a pint) and preferably more.
Otherwise, the sudden hit of highly concentrated salts in your stomach may cause digestive upset.
Fasting Salts – Warnings
Do not take this product if you are breastfeeding, pregnant or likely to become pregnant. If you are taking any medications, are under medical supervision, or suffer from any food allergies, consult a doctor before use. This product is not suitable for anyone under 18 years of age. Close tightly and keep out of sight and reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place. Do not use if seal is broken or missing.
Discontinue use and consult a doctor immediately if any adverse reactions occur, or in case of accidental overdose.
EXTENDED FASTING WARNING

Fasting Salts: Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, unfortunately, there is a burnt plastic smell on a small number of the Fasting Salts products in the current batches (BN 111298 / BN 111299, manufactured in June 2021).
The smell is not coming from the powder but from the rim of the plastic tub container. Induction heat sealing has been applied for slightly longer than necessary on those tubs.
The safety and efficacy of the powder are not affected. The tub is made from food-grade HDPE plastic which remains safe. Also, the powder does not come into direct contact with the affected area on top of the rim.
To completely avoid the smell, you can decant the powder into a different jar or a sealable plastic bag, or recycle the old tub from your previous order. The powder itself is not affected and will not smell once it’s taken out of the affected container.
We have already made plans to switch to different packaging for the next manufacturing batch, expected in October/November 2021.
Electrolyte ratios in our Fasting Salts reflect the recommendations of leading experts on fasting, as well as best practices developed by online fasting communities.
The commonly recommended daily quantities for extended fasting fall within the following ranges:
We wanted to design a product without any fillers, bulkers or other junk. The only way to do that was to use Sodium as a base. We also had to stay well within the safe upper limits for supplementation.
We came up with the following formulation:
These quantities fit all the recommendations regarding electrolyte supplementation for fasting, as well as safety regulations – plus enables us to achieve our aim of a filler-free powder.
Daily Values (DV) guidelines were developed for a “standard” Western diet. They are extremely generic even for that purpose, implying that “one size fits all” nutritionally. They are completely off when applied to alternative WOEs like Keto and fasting.
For example, many vitamins and minerals are used for digesting and metabolising macronutrients – not required if you fast.
It’s a legal requirement to include DVs on supplement labels. But they are really not that meaningful when it comes to fasting or Keto.
This product is designed for Extended Fasting. Many of our customers do occasional EF, then revert to IF and/or Keto as their default way of eating. So if you have some product left after your extended fast, you can continue using it in smaller dosages to support IF or Keto.
If you don’t practice extended fasting at all, you can get a less concentrated product with lower sodium content. Please check out our Keto Electrolytes capsules.
This product is completely free from flavourings and additives. The only ingredients are pure electrolyte salts.
And that’s exactly what it tastes like – just like any other salt dissolved in water!
We recommend starting with 1 scoop of powder per 500ml of water. If that’s too salty for you, increase the amount of water – that will not affect the efficacy of the powder.
If you find the taste too unpleasant, try our Fasting Salts capsules.
Any electrolyte supplement can potentially cause digestive upset, especially during extended fasting. Your system is very vulnerable and can be disrupted even by standard table salt.
To minimise the chance of this happening, please follow our recommendations on how to take this supplement. Do not exceed stated dose.
If you do experience digestive upset, try taking half a scoop at a time.
If you are taking this product for Keto or Intermittent Fasting, you are unlikely to experience any digestive upset.
If you feel this supplement is not working out for you, please contact us and get a full refund under our 60-day money back guarantee.
All three ingredients in this supplement are pure salts.
Larger salt crystals may take a bit longer to dissolve.
Using warm water or sparkling water should help to dissolve them faster.
Stirring with a spoon or using a protein drink shaker also helps.
There should be a 5ml scoop included within each pot.
Sometimes it might get lost in the powder – please fish around in the pot and you should find it.
In the unlikely event that your scoop is missing, you can use a standard teaspoon instead.
One 5ml scoop of the powder = One level teaspoon
4 scoops is the maximum daily dosage.
You may need all four – or you may only need one of two.
We are all different and there are other factors at play – for example, the duration of your fast, how much electrolytes you got stored in your body, whether your drinking water contains electrolytes and so forth.
If you are fasting for the first time, start with 1-2 scoops per day. If you still get the symptoms of electrolyte deficiency, take another one.
Listen to your body and find the level that’s right for you individually.
